Midland County Cross-Country Championships 26th January 2019
The first race of the championships was the u13 girls and it was Poppy Adkin who set the standard for the club as she set off with a look of determination on her face. She stayed strong throughout, though it was a tough cross-country course with plenty of mud in places and she was the star of the show for us finishing a fantastic 7th place in a high quality race with a time of 13.35. Poppy was backed up with a solid performance from Eve Rowley in 33rd place in a time of 14.44.
It was then the turn of the u13 boys and the team had a great race with Robert Wardlaw in 31st, Ryan Butler in 51st and Joss Pegg in 100th place.
The u15 girls team were hit by injury and illness and Makenzie Smith-Byrne was the only starter and finished in 56th place in a time of 18.50.
The u15 boys team was again hit by illness and Sam Wright was the only starter here, but he pushed on regardless to finish 62nd in a time of 17.00
U17 boy and girls race saw Charlie Combey and Emma Richards having solid races to finish 42nd (25.08)and 31st(24.01)respectively.
